Congress Temporarily Extends Low-Volume Hospital Adjustment and Medicare Dependent Hospital Program

In a continuing resolution passed to keep the government from shutting down at midnight on September 30^th, Congress has included provisions that extend the low-volume hospital adjustment and Medicare Dependent Hospital program. The two measures that were set to expire on September 30^th have now been extended until December 16^th, which also corresponds with the length of the continuing resolution. After returning from the mid-term elections in November, the congressional leadership hopes to pass a FY 2023 omnibus funding bill on or before December 16^th that contains a multiyear extension of the low-volume hospital adjustment and Medicare Dependent Hospital program.
